Education

“Our rural and underprivileged schools are falling farther behind as the demand for upgrades to buildings and technologies increase. We must restore equity to our public school system by ending the federal policies and practices of diverting money away from our K-12 schools. And we must address the student loan crisis that is crippling the future of our young people and our country.”
— Joe Mackey
Clean Energy Jobs

“Indiana has long been a leader in manufacturing, but we are letting others take our place as the clean energy industry expands. World-class centers of research like Purdue University, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Notre Dame University, and Indiana University call our state home, and yet we are not working with those institutions to bring those clean energy development and manufacturing jobs to our state. Hoosiers deserve better.”
— Joe Mackey
Health Care

“We thought we had ‘good’ insurance. It turns out we were wrong. In the end, after being devastated by the loss of our two children, we faced financial devastation because our country does not have a needs-based healthcare system – we have a for-profit healthcare market. That must change.”
— Joe Mackey
